Privacy

Last updated 22 September 2026

JellyGoose collects nothing. There are no accounts, no analytics, no advertising, no tracking, and no third-party services of any kind. The app talks to the media server you point it at and to nowhere else — not even to us. The one exception is described under “Finding your server”, and it never leaves your home network.

What stays on your Apple TV

Everything the app remembers is stored on the device itself:

Deleting the app removes all of it. Signing out deletes the token immediately.

Finding your server

While you are setting the app up, it asks your local network whether any Jellyfin servers are on it, so you can choose yours instead of typing its address. The question is a single message sent to devices on your own network; any Jellyfin server that hears it replies with its name and address. Nothing about you or your Apple TV is included, the message never leaves your home network, and the answers are only used to show the list on screen.

What your server sees

JellyGoose is a client for Jellyfin and Emby servers, which you or someone you know runs. In normal use it asks your server for your libraries and artwork, streams what you play, and reports your playback position so that Continue Watching works across your devices. That information goes to your server and stays there, under whatever policy that server keeps. We have no access to it.

Children

The app collects no personal information from anyone, including children. What it can display is whatever is in your own library.

Changes

If this policy ever changes, the new version will appear on this page with a new date above.
